About Vigour Personal Training

Vigour Personal Training was set up in 2004 with the goal of helping people to lose weight, get fitter, and live longer happier and healthier lives.
Now through Personal Training, Group sessions, and Bootcamps, Vigour has helped many people to achieve this.
We have helped all sorts of people, from celebrities to general public, from young adults to older ones.
Vigours methods have evolved over time, but with the aim of providing the most time efficient and effective training for people’s different Needs, Wants, and Budgets in and around the Norwich area and Online.

​ Dan makes exercise fun, the time really flies and no session is ever the same. It's far better than any gym or exercise video! I've definitely lost weight and toned up, I get reminded when people comment as it's often hard to notice the change in yourself. As my trainer, I had complete confidence in Dan. He worked me hard without de-motivating me – exercises were sometimes difficult but achievable with effort. At first I had 2-3 sessions per week, then 2 and now just 1. The sessions lasted an hour and consisted of various weights, ball and boxing exercises. When I asked for guidance on how I could improve my results Dan told me the best types of foods to help me and what times to eat. After just 2 weeks my body felt firmer – after 6 weeks my body confidence had improved tremendously and by 2 months I had a smaller pair of jeans! I still feel good after 4 months and still see results depending on the amount of effort I put in – has improved my general day to day confidence. Personal Training

Vigour Personal Training is mobile, we come you! So you don’t need to worry about what you wear, be self-conscious in front of other people, need a gym membership, or rush to get to your session.
We train where ever is best for you. Where that’s in your living room, garden or other agreed upon location and we bring equipment with us. If you have your own equipment this can be incorporated too but is not necessary.

Session lengths

Vigour offers 2 different session lengths, a 30min intense session, and a 60min for beginners/health conditions/less intense session.

Why 30-minute sessions?

The latest research shows that the more intense you work out the greater the effect it has on your metabolism, leading to an afterburn effect where your body continues to burn fat long after your session has finished. This afterburn effect can last up to 48 hours after your session with the right stimulus, meaning your 30-minute workout is still working for you 2 days later while you rest and recover! But high intensity cannot be maintained for long without the need to drop down to continue. So the intensity that you can maintain for 30 minutes is greater than that you can maintain for 60 mins, so the 30-minute session is the winner, longer afterburn and its over and down with quicker. The intensity is still personalised to your ability and tolerance, so it is YOUR Intense!

Muscle is your most metabolically active tissue in the body. Not only does it create all calorie burning movement, but it also requires a lot of energy to maintain itself. Bottom line – more muscle equals a faster metabolism and less body fat. But do not worry you won’t get all bulky as for one, most women do not have the hormones to get big naturally, and even if you do have the genetic tendencies, we adjust the rest periods so your body does not get the chance to release those hormones before they are flushed away. In women, muscles tend to get tighter, more toned, and denser, rather than bigger like they do in men. So you will just get leaner, tighter and more toned.

  • The Full Body Swedish Massage lasts around an hour, covering feet, legs, back, shoulders and arms. Price £60


  • The 2 half body options both last around 30 minutes, covering either Back, shoulders and arms Or legs and feet. Price £45

Bootcamp sessions


Vigour runs Bootcamp sessions under The BEST Bootcamp Norwich.
Sessions are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from The Pavillon Recreation Ground in Cringleford near the UEA.
Sessions are from 7-7.45pm all year round.
Sessions are outdoors, so be prepared for the different weather conditions. But it’s nice to train outside, with many members even saying they
enjoy training in the rain more so than the sun! Once you’re warmed up and ready to go, even on the coldest days, the weather isn’t a problem.
Bootcamp is your most cost-effective option and you can make new friends into the bargain.

Group training


Group Training sessions are a cross between Personal Training and Bootcamp.
You can train with your friends and usually outside, but with more personal attention the Bootcamp but at a lower price point than Personal Training.
The Best of both worlds!
  • Split the costs so its cheaper per person
  • Spur each other on to maximise the results
  • Make sure your technique is perfect so you don’t get injured
  • Tailored to each of you so you get the sessions specific to your goals

Private Nordic Walking


Nordic Walking is an excellent form of exercise. It is walking using Nordic Walking poles, these poles are lightweight and are designed for increased speed rather than necessarily hill climbing or rambling.
Why Nordic Walking is so effective is because you bring in the muscles of the upper body and trunk, meaning you are using 90-95% of your bodies calorie burning muscle power. This means you can burn up to 25% more calories than walking alone. You walk faster but the intensity is deceptive, as you generally don’t feel that it’s that much harder.
Nordic walking can be booked as private sessions or small groups and can be excellent for many health conditions as well as weight loss.
